The Mountain Bike School is hosted at Camp Thompson, the Carlisle Family YMCA’s summer camp.  With ten group cabins, a dining hall, bath house, a beautiful sprawling campus, and immediate proximity to some classic East Coast mountain biking, this is the perfect venue for us to hone in our technical riding skills.

Group enclosed cabin-style lodging is available to registered camp participants free of charge. Each cabin sleeps 10. There are single size mattresses on these bunks. There is electricity also. There is NO heat in these cabins. There are also no linens. Bring a heavy sleeping bag, pillows, and plenty of extra blankets. My favorite set up is a fitted sheet, sheet, 2 pillows, big fluffy down blanket, and an over blanket just in case.
NOTE*********You can reserve a specific cabin when you pre-register just by SELECTING WHICH CABIN you will be staying in when prompted. That way your friends can reserve the same cabin with you. We usually do some last minute swapping to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible.

ADDITIONAL NOTE********* If any cabin is left in an unacceptable manner, every occupant of that cabin will be charged an additional $15 for the weekend.*****

(You can also stay off-site at a hotel in Carlisle, PA or Shippensburg, PA if you desire to. There’s no discount for staying off-site)

There are 4 fire rings already in the camp, please limit any fires to these areas. Plan ahead and maybe pick up some dry split local wood on the way in. The camp wood supply in sporadic. Please don’t bring in foreign wood, to prevent the spread of invasive species.



There is a large bathhouse with hot showers in individual stalls, lots of sinks, and plenty of toilets. There are two sex-specific sides to the bath house, respect other users and stay on your own labeled side.
